Summary

Hello everyone this is Midna. Most know me by my engi, Midna of the Twili. This is my mesmer Midna Confusion. Her build so far has been very effective in Spvp as well as Tpvp and has very good survivability. This build has shown to be able to 1v1 pretty well. Also it has survived and came out on top in many 2v1 situations so far. Thank all of you for your support and feel free to add me or message me in game if you ever need any help with anything. :)

II. Traits

Adept Master Grandmaster

Trait Details

I put traits into some conditions as well as cripple when your clones are killed. these conditions are mainly to get some additional damage as well as to mess with your opponents while you are bursting them down. I put extra points into giving your staff and GS decreased cooldowns on their skills so you can use the skills more often.

Stat and Effect Details

As you can see you have really good toughness with high attack power and enough crit % to get the procs off of your fire sigils often. Your crit damage isn't very high but you should still see some pretty decent numbers pop out and you should be able to see your opponents fall pretty fast.

V. Basic Gameplay

With this build you have access to many moves to confuse your enemies and to keep you in safety. When you run though a move set you can blink behind the enemy so they will start attacking your clones and not realize where you are. Also with staff you get an additional teleport move with your phase retreat skill. Which adds to the enemies confusion and if you get the moves down you can also stealth and run around a corner to reset and the enemy will be fighting all the clones never knowing you left and you can hit with an additional wave of attacks and start the madness all over again. Your moves are on pretty short cooldowns with this build and at times you can get some pretty high numbers with your phantasmal Berserker and Warlock. I sometimes get crits off of the warlock for a little over 6k. Which for a build that isn't full zerker at all. Thats not bad.

Rotations i find pointless cause they are completely situational and the best way to learn a build is to go in it and learn it through experience. But i will list a rotation i find myself using more often in a match. But anyways, yada yada yada. that rotation is mainly just a bunch of whoey and all rotations are situational. Pop stealth and use blink when you need to save yourself. Always use phase retreat while inside chaos storm to get an extra bit of chaos armor. heal when necessary. and i use Signet of domination as a finisher to burst players down the rest of the way.

*EDIT* I have recently started trying out some shatter rotations on my build that have been doing pretty well. Because of the decreased cooldowns on your weapon skills you get pretty good clone output. Due to this fact you can get a lot more damage out just by shattering every so often. *PHASE RETREAT INSIDE CHAOS STORM IS AWESOME*, Gives you Chaos Armor without burning the skill. Lol. After the mind wrack you can pretty much do whatever you feel like. Your skills are all on pretty low cooldowns so you should start getting greatsword skills all over again.

(Doing this shatter rotation burns through dodges and wastes them so i don't fully advise this unless you feel like you can afford a wasted dodge for a little extra damage)

VI. *EXTRA SECTION* ;)

LoL I will be integrating this build into a PvE/WvW style build soon for all of you players who love that side of the spectrum.

Thank you all for your time and have a wonderful day.

Feel free to comment, add suggestions, add me as friend, or just show me some love. :)

Great build. Verry effective. Tried it a good few matches and stayed in the top two on scoreboards every time

Thank you for your comment. Also its not important to stay on top in the leaderboards every match. But it is important that you do well to perform whatever task you take on for your team. Only job that I dont advise with this build as much as the others is roaming but only because you are lacking swiftness to get from point to point faster than other players.

Love the build. Keep on posting. Its always pleasant to see people who i have met in game posting builds on these sites. Giving you a shout-out Midna. Your freaking awesome.

Good build. I am actually using a similar type of build but in mine i use the pistol trait instead of the greatsword trait but ill have to try out this build and see if i like it better than the one that im using. Thanks for sharing.

Strongly recommend switching out GS Training for Mender's Purity (remove two conditions on heal). The build has no condition removal which is a major weakness. Other than that, solid build!
@ 11:10 PM, Fri May 02 2014 Reply
Thank you for the tip. But I prefer to keep cool downs low in this build XD. So another thing you could do if you don't feel liked signet of Dom is needed as much is to swap for mantra of resolve. That's 4 conditions cleansed. 2 at a time as you need. I'm also pretty sure mantra of resolve is also on a 20 sec cooldown.

Relatively new to the mesmer class, and found this build almost by accident, I love it! Thanks so much for posting this :3 +1

First of all, I like this build very much and is works great! Sure there aren't any condition removes but I think and I also noticed that this build doesn't need them badly (this is only my opinion ;) )

But why not trying the superior rune of might & soldiers amulet. (afaik superior rune of might is the current meta ;) )

Sry for double posting, but I meant barbarian amulet ;)

Hello everyone. I haven't been on in forever but I plan on starting back and possibly streaming depending on if I feel up to it. Took a long break from the game, but I'm getting a new comp soon and I'm hoping to come back and shred through the competition. Bahaha but I'm also looking forward to seeing everyone.

Thank You For The Build!) It's very effective but I can't stand against Thieves))Build is very balanced and effective for caping and defending also very good for duels.

This a really fun build and great for pvp noobs like me(probably good for more advanced players too, but I can't comment on that). I went from being in the bottom two on the scoreboard to the top two just from switching builds. Of course this was hotjoin, but still. Surviving is easy with this build, even 1v2 or 1v3. The trick then is to get a feel for when to be aggressive instead of just jumping around avoiding attacks and confusing the enemy.
