Summary

Unlike current GS Mace Shield styles, this is a departure.

 

You have a defined role to play. Your survivability WILL be lower, but what you bring to a team is to important to ignore.

GS lacks in DPS unless you hit a critical mass of +Damage modifiers.
Generally this is why it lacks unless you go full zerker.

 

+10% crit damage from Discipline is far worse than +10% damage from Slashing Power.
The power damage and the damage modifier is what makes it strong.

 

You won't need 30pts in Defense either since you'll be running double stability utilities.

6/6 Divinity to round out your stats. Without it you feel underpowered regarding Crit, Crit damage and Toughness. It just fits and feels really well.


V. Basic Gameplay

YOUR JOB!

 

Peeling: If an enemy gets on a teammate, it's your job to stun them off your teammate. If you're running with a Necro, they are prime targets. You'll spend a lot of time near them.

 

Stomping: YOU ARE SECOND STOMP ROTATION. Upon first death.. CLEEAVVEEEE 1 hundo Blades!!!! Once thats done and it's time for second stomp, throw a stun on someone whose trying to res and go for the stomp.

 

DON'T OVER EXTEND

 

It's easy to feel stronk and move across the enemy line. Play intelligently, watch the positioning of your party.

 

Mace Shield TIP:
Pommel Bash first (Daze). People will instinctively dodge roll while dazed. Follow up with a well timed Shield Stun to guarantee a stun rotation.

Key Concepts:

 

Don't waste stuns because you felt it would land. Watch and count dodge rolls, keep in mind blinds. Remember how long until they have stability again.

 

Time your primary burst attacks around these core concepts and you're damage will be more consistent.
