Summary
this build is based on using the DS, its super effective while running dungeons and Fractals ,u can realy hold ur own, it has the power to deal dmg n the toughness to withstand it while in DS, basicly the longer ur in DS the stronger you'll get, so if u look at it like this ur DS is a body of armor With out it ur Squishy so wanna be in it for as long as possible and build it back up as fast as possible also this is kinda of a selfish build and is more useful if u pug alot, this is a POWER BUILD

ok i went with staff cuz of the Aoe capabilities using the marks, and also its the fastes way to get my 25x of ferocity from my sigil of cruelty( they dont have that sigil here so i used the power one instead)so basicly were gunna be using the staff to get up to 25x ferocity and swap to the axe/focus to execute whoever we need to( if u need more power u hop into deathshroud and own anything and everything
1.healing signet, for the constant regen while in combat, and also cuz consume condi adds 10x of vun which can be kinda a risk if ur realy needing the heal, but no worries u will still be able to condi clear via DS which i will get more in detail wen i discuss the traits
2.signet of spite for the extra power while outa DS(cuz wen u go into DS it dosnt carry over)
3&4. are the wells for more burtsting Aoe and also there combo field dark so any whirl finishers form the group turn into life stealin attacks
elite. is pretty much open i use the power suite from the asura for the #3 skill but i do also use lich form if i need that extra umph in my dps

- Unholy FervorReduces recharge of axe skills by 20% and deal 10% more damage to vulnerable foes.
- Siphoned PowerStriking a foe below 50% health grants 2 stacks for might for 10 seconds. (1s ICD)
- Signets of SufferingReduces recharge of signet skills by 20%. Signets grant 3 stacks of might for 15 seconds on cast and convert up to 2 boons on affected foes to conditions.
- Close to DeathIncreases 20% damage to enemies below the health threshold (50%).
- Spiteful SpiritEntering shroud casts the axe skill Unholy Feast. This trait benefits from the recharge bonus of Unholy Fervor.
Death Magic
- Armored ShroudGain 180 toughness while in death shroud.
- Flesh of the MasterMinions have 50% increased health. Gain 20 bonus toughness for each minion you control.
- Shrouded RemovalRemove a condition when you enter shroud and every 3 seconds that you remain in shroud.
- Putrid DefensePoisoned foes deal 10% less damage to you.
- Soul ComprehensionYour passive life-force generation from nearby deaths is increased by 20%
- Necromantic CorruptionIncreases minion damage by 25%. Every 10 seconds your minions will take one condition from you. Minions transfer conditions when they hit with attacks (this can only occur once every 10 seconds per minion).
- Reaper’s ProtectionIf you are inflicted by a crowd control effect you inflict fear for 2 seconds on nearby foes (60s ICD).
- Deadly StrengthGain power equal to 7% of your toughness. If you are in shroud this value is doubled.
- Beyond the VeilWhen you exit shroud you and all your minions gain protection for 3 seconds.
- Death NovaMinions explode when they die in a cloud of poison. This effect also occurs if you are downed. When you kill a foe summon a jagged horror (this effect can only occur once every 15 seconds).
- Corrupter’s FervorWhenever you apply a condition to a foe gain a stack of Corrupter’s Fervor for 8 seconds which grants 30 toughness and 2% reduced incoming condition damage per stack (maximum 10 stacks).
- Unholy SanctuaryHeal every second while you are in shroud. If you would take fatal damage and you have at least 10% lifeforce you enter shroud instead (30s ICD).
Soul Reaping
- GluttonyIncrease life force gain from skills by 10%.
- Unyielding BlastShroud skill 1 pierces an inflicts 2 stacks of vulnerability for 10 seconds to targets it hits. Increased number of targets pierced to 5 from 4.
- Soul MarksMark skills are now unblockable and generate 3% life force when triggered.
- Speed of ShadowsIncreases movement speed while in shroud by 25% and decreases recharge of shroud by 30%.
- Last GaspGain Spectral Armor when your health falls below the threshold (50%).
- Spectral MasteryReduces recharge of spectral skills by 20% and increases duration by 50%. Additionally, when you activate a spectral skill you gain 5% life force.
- Vital PersistenceLife force drains 50% slower while in shroud and the recharge of shroud skills is reduced by 15%.
- Fear of DeathFear duration is 50% longer. When you are downed, fear foes around you for 1s.
- Strength of UndeathIncreases maximum life force pool by 15%. While above 50% lifeforce you deal 5% additional damage.
- Foot in the GraveWhen you enter shroud gain 1 stack of stability for 3 seconds and break out of stun.
- Death PerceptionWhile you are in shroud you have an additional 50% chance to critical hit.
- DhuumfireShroud skill 1 inflicts 1 stack of burning for 3 seconds when it hits.
Trait Details
Traits were gunna be going into Spite,Death Magic,Soul Reaping
the reason i went into death magic and not blood magic is for the double power boost i get while im in death shroud via deadly strength and the unholy sanctuary which is a life savor at times and shrouded removal( i mean yes i could use consume conditions but since ima be in DS most of the fight anyways why not condi cleanse while im fighting)these 3 trait lines have alotta synergy with one another in my opinion
Spite a.(minors),reapers might(while in DS using the skill 1 grants us 1x of might for a base of 15 sec but with our runes ends up being 22 sec) ,death's embrace(a dmg buff of 25% while were in downed stat as well as 1x of vun while the target is below 33% health), Siphoned Power(A might trait that will help us get to 25x for our bursting dmg)
Spite b.(majors),spiteful renewal( for a bit of condi clear clears 1 con every 5 sec)rending shroud(an aoe vun to upto 5 targets great for tagging mobs to get our sigil of cruelty up to 25x fatser), close to death( pretty much a dmg buff of 20% once we get the enemies down to 50% health )
Death Magic a. armored shroud( an extra 180 toughness while in DS), soul comprehension(a DS regen booster wen adds die we more DS juice ),beyond the veil( protection for 3 sec wen we exit DS)
Death Magic b.shrouded removal( our main condi clear while in DS every 3 sec while in DS remove 1 condi,might not sound like much but we build DS so fast and it burns so slow its worth it trust me),deadly strength( basicly a power buff so while ur in base form u gain power equal to 7% of ur toughness however while ur in DS it doubles so u get 14% while ur in DS),unholy sanctuary(basicly an oh crap trait the procs on its own wit a 30 seconds cd if ur about to take a leathal blow , this has saved me more then once its a good trait to have, so how it works is say ur getting bursted down by an enemy having this trait will automaticly put u in DS and healing ur base health the longer u stay in DS which is around 7.5k healing if u use the whole DS bar to heal urself when u exit DS)
Soul Reaping a.gluttony( helps us build or DS faster using our skills),last gasp( gain spectral armor if ur health falls below 50%), strength of the undeath( basicly increases our DS pool to help stay in it longer and adds an extra 5% dmg while were over 50% DS health)
Soul reaping b.unyielding blast( baicly DS skill 1 also ads vun wen u hit a foe),vital persistence( DS pool drains 50% slower and our DS skills recharge 15% faster allowing us to get stronger over time),death perception(automaticly gives us 50% crit chance while in DS meaning all we need to do is get to 50% from our gear and we will crit 100% of the time while in DS)

so basicly this build is a glass cannon in its base form and wen we enter our DS we basicly turn super saiyan with extra toughness, regen on both health bars and condi clearing and more, the longer the fight the stronger u become and the more dmg u will dish out,i run this build for any thing PVE wise, and even some WVW while im zerging cuz its a range class i dont ever worry bout being bursted down but at the same time im dishing out that vun and doin lots a AOE dmg

Upgrade Item Details
ur gunna want assassins armor for the precision u can use zerkers armor but ur gunna need to find another way to make up for the loss precision via food or utilities , and runes of strength for the extra might duration
trinkets, i went celestial for the extra toughness,precision, vit, and healing power and a zerker back piece
food i went with somthin cheap but u can def pick wat ever u want same with utilities
sigils i went with sigil of force for the extra 5% dmg on both axe n staff
and sigil of crualty( the ferocity one) for the staff aswell, and sigil of superior accuracy for the focus
this puts us at 100% crit chance whith both sets of weapons axe/focus 56% n staff 52% meaning we will always be criting 100% of the time while were in DS no matter wat set of weapon were using
V. Basic Gameplay
this build is a mid to long ranged fighter NOT A MELEE figher, for maximum dmg stay 600 range AND MOVING AROUND alot
so u start off using ur staff till u get ur 25 stax of ferocity then u swap to axe/focus and murder everything using ur wells to quickly burst down enemies building ur DS once its full hop into DS and own watever in ur way with life blast( skill 1) gaining might and addind vun to the target while regaining health and clearing condies every 3 seconds, and basicly rinse and repeat hope u like this build
also because this is a ranged build should u need to rez ppl i recomend hoping outa DS to do so as u wanna save ur DS for the unholy sanctuary to proc if u find ur self being bursted down while reviving
Main Skill Rotation
so u start off by placing the first 3 marks at ur feet as traps then hit them with auto attack to lure them in once traps activated use wells hop into DS and use aoe skills then hop out and do the same thing until u reach 25 stax of ur sigil then u swap to axe/focus
and use the vun skill only and burst them down
I don't agree with the signet of spite. The bonus you get from it is smaller than from Blood is Power. The latter provides might for you and allies, so in a dungeon it's an obvious choice for necro.
Why Spite II? Do you really have problem with conditions as a necro? In PvE? O_o Spite I is quite obvious there, as 90+% of mobs have no boons.
Death Magic isn't and has never been a choice for dps necro. It's for minion selfish tank builds. After 26/06 the most useful support line is Blood Magic. Finally, you choose 2 wells, so Blood Magic is quite obvious. 10 sec of protection (for you and allies) and life siphoning give more survability than Death Magic.
If using Lich Form, I think Soul Reaping IV ay be better than Soul Reaping V, but I don't know it really.
Taking cele equipment in this build seems a bad idea. Why would you need healing power? I can understand vitality - it makes life force pool larger. But toughness?
