Weapon and Skill Details

Weapons: The purpose of the sword is the high mobility and run down of fleeing targets. The sword damage of 100 blades should not be ignored and if you have an opponent that wishes to stand in place I would strongly recommend showing him that 100 blades is still a force to be reckoned with. Also the number 3 acts as an invulnerability while active. I use Sigil of Impact on hammer which is required. For sword I personally run Sigil of Superior Fire but I would feel that power stacking sigil or an endurance sigil would work as well.

II. Traits

Adept Master Grandmaster

Trait Details

Skills: The skills that I run are healing sig because the heal over time is the most superior heal in game at the moment for warrior. The new move looks alright but the CD is too long. You also get health from Adrenal Health. I run balanced stance for stability and because the CD is shorter even with sig reduction trait. I also like the fact when roaming that I get sprint from it. In straight up team fights the extra toughness on doylak sig would be superior. Do not underestimate the need for stability in PvP nearly worthless in PvE. I switch this to a banner for pve. Next skill for me is enduring pain. I keep this for pve as well. Its a great o shit button when you overestimate your ability or see damage coming in and are out of dodges. Next ability is Charge. I like the extra knockdown and gap closer. The knockdown goes toward the extra damage your hammer gets as well. In PvE I switch to a different banner. Final ability is Rage signet because no real reason to run anything else other than banner to pick people up in large fights or PvE.

V. Basic Gameplay

Hello all I am Gloom and have been playing a warrior for a little under a year now. I have played nearly every version of warrior in this game and have finally settled on the hammer and greatsword for all around play. This guide is in no way claiming credit for this build but I have done slight modifications to it as my play style changes. While this build is not DPS superiority for PvE I have never had a complaint about me in level 25+ fractals because of the control and raw damage this spec brings. The most important thing about warrior is the diversity it brings. I commonly swap out weapons and skills to better fit the enemy or team style. Several people might say that this build was nerfed with the December 10th patch in which the raw hammer damage was reduced. That does not mean this build does not work. Raw damage is only how fast you can kill someone. Superior play with good anticipation will always win. I am still seeing hammer smashes well over 5k in PvP every 7 seconds.

Runes: That being said for the moment I am still going to run Melandru Runes for the condition duration reduction and food that reduces condition and stun times. The condi removal in this spec is through the rage ability. I constantly hammer smash as it is a stun and damage output as well as condi cleanse. It is important to remember that damage output is the same for the hammer whether your rage is full or not.

Gear: I run full berserker gear in this spec because I do not like to change gear for pvp and pve. I like the raw damage of the gear and it forces you to make fewer mistakes. As I stated earlier raw damage only speeds up the fight. If you lose in this gear you would lose in tankier gear too it would only take longer.

As always I am Gloom.9683 find me in guild with any questions or theorycrafting on warriors. Remember there is strong and then there is OH FUCK ITS THE WARRIOR AGAIN strong...

I have since changed my runes to the Runes of Strength. It will not let me change them in the guide for some reason.

I run a similiar Hammer/Gs build. It is fun being that warrior no1 wants to fight without an army behind their back
